Forum rules

A Faulds:
OK, so I'm currently the only admin. This website actually resides on my web server, not the school's, but it's at forums.westhillacademy.org, so of course you can't just post anything here.

Also, I am the only admin, but of course with the name "pupil council forums" it is ultimately under pupil council control.

Anyway, I'd like to have some discussion about forum rules here. At the moment there aren't any written rules here, and I'm generally trusting reasonable judgement. However there is one issue that's bothering me: pseudonyms.

I'd rather people use their real names here, not usernames by which to hide from others. There's no reason to hide here - if you tell me that it's a breach of privacy, let me remind you all Facebook profiles are partially public. I've already banned (although I can undo it) two people with no posts for pseudonyms, although that is because one was Ukranian and probably a spammer, and the other was someone trying to mess with me.

So, I would like to discuss the issue of rules here. I'd rather not make a rule for everything, but I think certain things should have rules against them. Also, some guidelines that you might be warned about. (no posting several messages in a topic in succession, perhaps)

Thoughts?

Angela Allan:
If you have things that you believe need rules then it maybe helpful to say what they are. You may get responses to specifics rather than general 'rules'.

Ah, I mentioned it in that post, I think we should be against pseudonyms (names like "rockstar2008" instead of "John Doe"). I want people to use their real names here, not hide behind made up ones.

alexkubel:
I can agree I desided against such after usng the one I use as standard 'Alexkubel'

really we should have a way to replace words that would get the forum blocked with something else like 'butterfiles' 'flowers' '*beep*'

A Faulds:
Words in content won't get the forum blocked, only URLs, and they're all clean and numerical (stuff like /index.php?action=post;topic=19.0;last_msg=151), so I'm not worried.
