Wi-fi

(1/3) > >>

Jemma Craig:
A number of senior pupils have spoken to me about the possibility of using the school's wi-fi on their own laptops during class time and during study periods as the school's library often has classes using their computers.

Thoughts?

Kieran Thomas Rorie:
I particularly like this idea but I think it's unlikely to go ahead because Senior Management would argue that it is a security issue. Which it is.

Yeah, unless WiFi was made into a separate isolated network, which is probably not worth it or going to happen.

Angela Allan:
Wifi in the school still only gives you access to the school network, and all the usual firewalls, etc. This is what we use for the evening classes.

Yeah, but it would be a security issue because then someone like me, if I had some sort of criminal intent, could possibly use it to mess with school computers.
