Needlessly overly-aggressive and protective web filter

(1/1)

A Faulds:
Speaking to you from school, and rather irritated that I can't:
- Search Google for "same-sex marriage", which I want to cover in my English discursive essay, because:

--- Quote ---This site was blocked by restriction list: RM Pornography and Illegal or Age-Restricted Activity List
--- End quote ---
- Search Google for "Ku Klux Klan", which I needed to do earlier this year doing History research, but:

--- Quote ---This site was blocked by restriction list: RM Intolerance List
--- End quote ---
- I can't visit afa.net, website of the American Family Association, a notable homophobic hate group, because:

--- Quote ---This site was blocked by restriction list: RM Pornography and Illegal or Age-Restricted Activity List
--- End quote ---

And don't get me started about how sites like YouTube and tumblr are blocked, which often have informative resources!

This should be fixed!

For reference, those that need to get around this in the meantime can use these links:
- Google (encrypted): https://google.com/
- Wikipedia (encrypted): https://en.wikipedia.org/
However, lots of sites have no encrypted alternative, and this only works if the site itself isn't blocked!

alexkubel:
and why do you think they're blocked? it's a blanket ban

A Faulds:
I think certain domains should be completely whitelisted, for example wikipedia.org
